VALVE CLOSURE SYSTEMS
For Cylinders, Bulk Containers, Tank Trucks & Tank Cars.

MaxPro™ Valve Closure System
The new MaxPro™ Valve Closure System provides first line protection against leaks at the most vulnerable point in the chlorine supply system - the valve opening in the pressurized chlorine container.

The MaxPro™ Valve Closure System mounts to a standard 150-pound or 1-ton chlorine cylinder to close the valve automatically in the event of a chlorine leak. The system represents an improvement over alternative valve closure systems and provides several advantages and benefits:

  • In the presence of a chlorine leak, the MaxPro™ System instantly responds to a signal from a solenoid, tightly closing the valve to effectively stop the leak.
  • The MaxPro™ System uses an air motor to close the valve, which is often preferred to an electric actuator for safe operation in hazardous conditions.
    • Compared to alternative systems, the MaxPro™ Valve Closure System is based on a less complex design, so the unit has fewer components and less maintenance.
  • The mounting bracket of the MaxPro™ System does not contact the yoke or the packing nut on the cylinder valve when the system is installed, when the valve is open or closed, or even during system activation.
    • The unit is light in weight, quickly and easily attached and detached from the cylinder, and can be used by a single operator. No tools are required for assembly or disassembly.
  • The MaxPro™ Valve Closure System can be used on vacuum or pressurized systems and is designed for use with air or nitrogen.
    • The MaxPro™ Valve Closure System provides optimal performance at an economical installation and operating cost.

MultiPro™ Tank Car Valve Closure System
The unique, new MultiPro™ Tank Car Valve Closure System features air-operated external actuators to automatically close tank car valves in the presence of gas leaks, power failure, air failure, or car movement. It is typically used on chlorine, hydrogen chloride, sulfur dioxide, and other liquefied gas containers. The system is engineered in accordance with The Chlorine Institute, Inc. Pamphlet 57 Guidelines for rail cars, tank trucks, and other bulk liquefied gas containers.

The MultiPro™ Tank Car Valve Closure System is adaptable for industry-standard tank car valves including Descote, ACF, Midland, Belteck, and others. It is light in weight, quickly assembled, and can be used by a single operator. The system, which is available in both reversible and non-reversible versions, utilizes high quality components and has been subjected to rigorous safety reviews and comprehensive hazards and operations studies.

The MultiPro™ Tank Car Valve Closure System automatically closes tank car valves in the event of gas leaks, power failure, air failure, or car movement. The system operates via a pneumatic-driven motor coupled to a gear drive and adapter plate assembly. A dry air supply reservoir and a fail open solenoid valve supply air to the air motor assembly. An alarm such as a toxic air alarm, emergency stop, or rail car movement alarm will drop power from the solenoid, closing the container valves.

AutoPro™ Automated Shut-Off Valve Closure System
The AutoPro™ Automated Shut-Off Valve Closure System is designed especially for use on 1-ton containers and 150-pound cylinders. This valve actuator is designed as a safety measure to reduce hazards in case of a chlorine or sulfur dioxide leak.

The AutoPro™ Automated Shut-Off Valve Closure System functions on the following principle: the air to open spring, to close actuator is mounted on a valve connected to a 1-ton container or 150-pound cylinder. Constant air pressure is exerted on the actuator from a 3-way solenoid that allows the valve to remain open. In the event of a leak, a chlorine/sulfur dioxide detector stops the flow of electricity to the solenoid. The solenoid then vents the air through a bleed port, releasing the air from the actuator, closing the valve and stopping the flow of chlorine.

Units feature a 1/2-inch NPT chlorine-rated valve and can be mounted in any position. Other features include:

    • Heavy-duty design for added durability.
  • Weighs approximately 5 pounds.
    • Corrosion-resistant anodized aluminum housings with stainless steel fasteners.
  • Meets NAMUR Standards for direct mounting of solenoid valves and controls.
    • High cycle life.
  • High-flow closed yoke adapter included.
